As our historic strike action ballot opens, hear from professor of healthcare & workforce modelling Prof Alison Leary πŸ’™#ProtectNurse on why nursing pay is pivotal to the health & wellbeing of the profession and the population: bit.ly/3Pgom6v #NursingMatters

Thanks for sending this. It adds to a long standing body of evidence of association between workforce and safety (including some I, Dr Sarahjane Jones & others have done) The question for me is why does a substantial body of evidence not have policy impact? A personal view 🧡1/6

This really hasn't been talked about enough. If you're concerned about how patient safety is maintained during strike action, please read and share this from The RCN. #FairPayForNursing

How do patients undergoing HSCT view palliative care? Lack of knowledge can prevent patients from accepting palliative care and physicians feel less comfortable managing symptoms in transplant patients. Read more here πŸ‘‰ loom.ly/p3A6fhs Megan Melody MD, MS #GvHD

So happy to bump into some Anthony Nolan fundraisers on my way home tonight, who told me they'd raised an amazing Β£5000 in two days! Made my day πŸ’šπŸ–€

This is an important point. Voting for strike action means you have until the day of action to decide. It does not commit you to striking. Not voting means not having that option. #FairPayForNursing

Just a Yorkshire person asking Department for Transport if they can sort out trains in the North instead of wasting billions on HS2. I don't want to get to London faster, I just want to get from Leeds to Sheffield without dying of oxygen starvation on CrossCountry Trains.

The cost-of-living crisis has really taken a toll on many leukaemia patients. Β  We know this because theΒ demand for financial grants has soared since it began, and we've seen a 400% increase in the number of applications to our existing fund.

I thought NQ was 27k basic? Also (as in another thread) a lot of the workforce stay on this payband (band 5) for many years. I do not think this is a fair representation of the current issues.
