Our 50th anniversary celebrations start with a festival of hockey on Sat 23rd July at Park School in Barnstaple. We kick off with a junior tournament at 10am; a back to hockey session for potential new members at 11.45 and an inter club tournament from 12.30. All welcome!

Thank you to everyone that played in the tournament yesterday, celebrating 50 years of North Devon Hockey Club. It was great to see so many juniors, new and old faces, as well as many @TawValley players. Special thanks to the Castle Inn for putting on an excellent barbecue, too.

A tough opening day of the league season with the 1st XI losing away at East Devon, 5-1, and the 2nd XI losing 4-2 at home to Hornets.

Both teams are yet to find a win in their respective leagues, with the 1st XI losing 3-2 at home to Ocean City 2s and the 2nd XI losing 6-1 to Isca 5s on the road. If we can find a way to score more goals and concede fewer, I am sure results will start to pick up.

The 1st XI lost 4-3 away at Caradon 1s, yesterday. MoM: Sam Wormington with some excellent saves. The 2nd XI lost 9-1 at home to East Devon 2s. Both teams are still looking for their first win of the league season

The 1st XI won 4-3 at home to Truro 2s, yesterday (first win of the league season!). Alas, the 2s lost 5-1 away at Dart 1s, despite contesting the whole match. We soldier on!

Well done to the 1st XI who defeated Ashmoor 2nd XI 5-3 at home yesterday, with a hat-trick from man of the match Ash Thorne. The 2nd XI put in a spirited performance away to Ashmoor 3rd XI, losing 4-2, despite a brace from Bradley Bellingham.

Congratulations to the 1st XI who won the Exeter HC pre-season tournament, today; Pete scoring the winner in the final against Taunton Vale 2s. The 2nd XI lost 3-2 at home to Tiverton 1s.

The 1st XI drew 1-1 away to top of the league Truro 2s, yesterday. Teas were the winner, though, as we were taken back to Skinner's Brewery. The 2nd XI came back from 2-0 down at home to top of the league Teign to draw 4-4. They remain unbeaten this season.

The 1st XI won 5-2 at home to Isca 4s, yesterday. Guy Cockcroft won Man of the Match for his two goals. They now sit 5th in the table. The 2nd XI lost their first game of the season, 4-1 away to Ocean City 2s. Much revelry and camaraderie was enjoyed at the annual curry night.

The 1st XI lost 3-2 away to Devonport Services, yesterday. MoM was Sam Wormington for some excellent saves. The 2nd XI beat Exeter 2s 6-3 at home. MoM was Josh Thorne for a fine hat-trick.

Despite being dreadful for most of the match, the 1s beat a solid Ashmoor 2s at home 4-1, yesterday; Guy Cockcroft with a brace and two scintillating goals from Ben Cox and Joe Taylor Richards. The 2s lost 5-1 on the road to Dart 1s, though the score was 2-1 with 10 mins to go.
