I'm a believer that AI will be a long-term boon to humanity. But a lot of techno-optimists understate the short-term pain people will experience in the transition. This is the quiet part not enough people are saying out loud.

Got a ping from a CEO for a backchannel reference for a CCO candidate I knew like 4 years ago (as a client). Backchannel references are always a reminder - don't burn any bridges! [This particular person was great, so the reference was easy]

Happy Birthday to The Boss! He's been the voice in my ear (along with Taylor!) guiding me down Thunder Road to the Promised Land. No one does the age 75 better than him!

Every dinner I have with other people: Them: "What are you watching on Netflix these days?" Me: "Have you thought about the nature of consciousness and identity and what the many world interpretation of quantum mechanics implies for it?" Them: "Check please"

A little late to the party but I really liked this analysis from Alex Clayton Meritech on the upside for SaaS in the world of generative AI (versus the pov that "SaaS is 💀") meritechcapital.com/blog/saas-isnt…

This is cool - use ChatGPT to make PowerPoint decks by creating VBA code. After trying it out, it's good at putting content into slides - not yet good at designing them. P.S. The cognitive dissonance of Generative AI creating Visual Basic code (from 1993) is 🤯

Broadcom (which, along with making chips, has consolidated several legacy software companies) is worth more than Salesforce, Adobe and ServiceNow combined. I understand why people have a hard time with their playbook sometimes, but man - they know how to make money! 🤯🤯🤯

Couple of weeks late to the party, but this article on the next phase of AI from Sequoia Capital is so spot on. No fluff. And the analogy to "system 1" and "system 2" thinking is perfect. sequoiacap.com/article/genera…

This is pretty 🤯. I asked ChatGPT to guess my Enneagram (personality test) type based upon my favorite Taylor Swift songs - and it got it right (I'm a 4)! Sad truth is ChatGPT probably knows me better than anyone else does 🤷🏽‍♂️

Things airlines think we want: 1. Detailed announcements about the flight path and weather 2. "Limited time credit card offer" 3. Moist towelettes Things we actually want: 1. Working WiFi

Moms have a way of seeing everything we do (and everything we don’t do—like calling enough). It’s like they’ve got their own “ChaatGPT,” always ready to serve up some spicy truths and timeless wisdom. 🫣 This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for so many things, but one thing that

An exercise I enjoy every year: Go through the last few hundred text message threads in my phone and express my gratitude for the person on the thread. It feels really good.
