With the warmer weather upon us NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham want to remind the residents of City of Welland TownOfPelham off road vehicles are prohibited from operating on all city trails.

Today NRPS Road Safety was in rural City of Welland assisting our NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham with speed enforcement.

Our NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham NRPS officers were on routine patrol in City of Welland when a vehicle was found to be driving with improper licence plates. The driver was determined to be unlicensed and the vehicle uninsured.

Our NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham NRPS officers responded to a community complaint for erratic driving in City of Welland. The vehicle was located and driver arrested for impaired. A breath sample of 352 was obtained, 4.5 x the legal limit of .80. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

May 30-June 08 is ATV safety awareness week. Our NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham NRPS want to remind everyone while out on the trails to ensure your ATV's are mechanically sound, riders have proper safety equipment and respect peoples private property. Stay safe and have fun.

Today the District School Board of Niagara hosted their Special Olympics day in City of Welland. Over 1000 participants from 90 schools. Our NRPS officers were proud to bring the Flame of Hope to open the games on behalf of Torch Run Ontario Special Olympics Ontario. A great day to celebrate the spirit of inclusion.

Keep reporting suspected impaired drivers City of Welland TownOfPelham. Our NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham NRPS responded to a call of a suspected impaired driver. The driver was found to be impaired and provided breath samples well over the legal limit. Driver charged/vehicle impounded.

In response to community concerns our NRPS 3 District - Welland / Pelham NRPS officers have commenced a series of summer proactive ATV patrols along our trail system in City of Welland TownOfPelham combining education and enforcement under the off road vehicle and trespass to property acts.

Fatal Collision – Thorold At 10:11pm, emergency crews responded to a fatal collision involving a motorcycle on Holland Rd and Merrittvile Hwy. Roads will be closed for several hours. Please use alternate routes.
