Iannis Aifantis Lior Pachter PubSmear I think the difference is that the high impact journals do EXTREMELY POOR peer review for computation. The current peer review system for comp bio in the higher impact biomedical journals is near useless.

“ceSAR combines cheminformatic techniques with signature concordance analysis to connect small molecules and their targets and further assess their biophysical compatibility using molecular docking”. A fantastic and powerful idea. Congrats Jason and Jarek!

Let me introduce: InstanSeg 🦠🔬💻👩‍🔬 This *would* have been a short thread about Thibaut Goldsborough’s PhD work… but he solved too many problems. Now it's a long thread about 2 preprints, a whole new approach to cell segmentation & #opensource software to make it easy to use

Super excited to finally post about our RNA foundation model, led by our very own Ali Saberi (not on Twitter), with Hani Goodarzi , Amin Emad , and Vishnu Ram. LoRNA-SH is splice-aware, takes as input the entire pre-mRNA, and models isoform diversity biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/n

A team of UC Berkeley chemists have developed a yellow crystalline powder that can pull carbon dioxide from the air, a half-pound of which can absorb as much CO2 annually as a tree. “This is a game-changer,” said a UC Berkeley chemistry professor. trib.al/EgGkLHh

Excited to share BayesTS (shorturl.at/Z1wFi), a new tumor specificity index (measuring how safe a target is) we proposed for drug target discovery. It integrates RNA gene expression, protein staining, tissue essentiality, and many other modalities into a single score. (1/8)

The BayesTS score for all human protein coding genes are available at (github.com/frankligy/Baye…) and the code is freely available at (github.com/frankligy/Baye…), feel free to take a look and we appreciate any feedback. (7/8)
