Stem cells are cells that can become different types of cells.

Cells come from embryos 3-5 days old and are more versatile than adult cells, which are found in smaller numbers in the fat or bone marrow

Goal of stem cell research: determine if there is a way we can find a way to allow stem cells to change into a patient-specific cell

#tb to when Obama signed the executive order repealing a Bush-era policy that limited federal tax dollars for embryonic stem cell research!

We need to remember, that without the help of government funds we wouldn't be able to help the countless people who need stem cells!!

Even though adult cells are limited to differentiation, they are less likely to reject a transplant that embryos. Adult cells=better option

Stem cell research should be funded by the government only for non-embryo, adult cell research.

Our group prefers adult stem cells over the use of embryos because it leads to a less controversial decision and still makes an impact.
