My friend Zach is amazing & the replies to this tweet are unhinged. I left the GOP in my twenties—evangelicalism, too—largely because it felt like a movement that would eventually embrace power and money over people. Keep preaching Jesus’ love, Zach. I’m with you on all of this.

The faculty at the school I’m poll greeting at noticed I hadn’t had lunch and they’ve been bringing me snacks. A poll worker let me borrow his phone charger. Elections *can* and should be and usually are a reminder that people are actually pretty great. #Election2024

There is too much hubris in our politics. Too many people who think they have all the answers. Let’s go out and have deep and thoughtful conversations with people. Listen to them. And then earnestly work to address their concerns and rebuild trust. 10/12
