After a presentation from Colorectal CNS Wayne Croves on post cancer diagnosis remote follow up, NUHColorectalTeam are heading home. Thanks to NHS East Genomics for hosting us and the National Ice Centre for being a great venue. And our amazing MDT coordinator Sidra Jamil.

We recognised staff at a long service awards event. Dr Abed Zaitoun, Consultant in Cellular Pathology, celebrated 25 years’ service said: “There have been many advances in molecular pathology for patient care over the years, I have seen big changes in services and technology."

In November, one of our colorectal surgeons, Mr Maxwell-Armstrong joined a small team of surgeons to travel to Ukraine.  Their ongoing project is to upskill the local Ukrainian surgeons in laparoscopic surgery, to improve health outcomes and recovery for the local population.
