That's wonderful. Yes, we're seeing far more support of people in airports, and some of the rail networks. They prefer at least 48hrs notice to be able to make arrangements, and staff are trained in cognitive impairment. #AlzChat

A compact organiser and emergency card offer peace of mind, dignity travels better when health needs are quietly protected (done with care).

#AlzChat Toilets: carry change, hand wash, tissues. In the UK, PLWD can access disabled access toilets using a card or key. Check local dementia care services or someone suggested getting a key from here: shop.disabilityrightsuk.org/products/radar…

#AlzChat Fab idea! A scenic train service for people with dementia and their carers... live music, and passengers are encouraged to bring a picnic with them... bbc.com/news/articles/…

Inviting a friend is a great idea. We know families who have invited a friend or other relative, which can make a huge difference in reducing stress, and having mini rest breaks as needed. Eat a cookie is on my list anytime! #AlzChat

#AlzChat as Trevor's dementia progressed we used to plan a day of activity and a restful day. Activity days could be excursions, good museums, long walk ...

#AlzChat short breaks were always in the same chain hotels where the decor and room layouts were always the same, nothing new to learn. Short breaks were not scary.

ah yes! Its wonderful to have accessible spaces for dignified adult pad changing etc, which is not easy in most disabled toilets. Love Changing Places UK use of the word: incLOOsive! #AlzChat
