Cuckoo, Ravengill Beck, Commondale. Enjoyable 3 hour hike in the sunshine; lots of juvenile stonechat, a new redstart find, and then tracking this always distant beauty. Meadow pipits often perched nearby. teesbirds NorthYorksBirdNews North York Moors NP Yorkshire Wildlife Trust - follow us on Bluesky 🦋 RSPB

Took all afternoon but eventually got a good view of the wykeham ortolan bunting. Life ✅ 376 and Yorkshire ✅ 305. Wasn’t fast enough to get my camera on it but the man next to me kindly let me take a boc of his photo.

Nightjar, Wykeham Forest. Late this evening, at a deserted viewpoint. A break from waiting for a very elusive Ortolan bunting. Thanks to dean paul brooks for OB relocation and Phil H for original OB find Wednesday. NorthYorksBirdNews teesbirds North York Moors NP RSPB
