The back- and side-door cold fronts are converging at #NYC and producing an extremely impressive - and unusual - temperature gradient across the city, via NYS Mesonet at UAlbany. Temperatures in the low 80s across traditional seabreeze-prone locations are 30F warmer than inland locations.

A very spring like day out across WNY with the passage of a warm front earlier, bringing temps closing in on 70 degrees, and strong gusty winds upwards of 50mph. Webster LiDAR depicting 100-knot winds at ~5000 meters above ground level (~500mb)! #nysmesonet

The last bit of snow depth at the higher elevations continues to quickly erode away under the steep April sun this afternoon, as seen by regional NYS Mesonet at UAlbany cameras. Even warmer temperatures with highs in the 60s and 70s expected tomorrow.

At the start of the summer, temperatures at two sites Olean and Clymer in SW corner fell below freezing🥶The freezing at Olean lasted ~1.5 hours resulting in freezing fog!

Wettest May during the life time NYS Mesonet at UAlbany especially in east Plateau and capital regions with all sites except two having above normal precipitation (as much as 8"). It is consistent with the report Northeast RCC (more than 200% above normal).

Temperature is still going up! 32 of our 127 sites already broke June 5th Tmax records for the life time NYS Mesonet at UAlbany . 14 sites were >1 F warmer than last records🥵 Schuylerville had the warmest Tmax 91.4F at 3:10pm.
