Finally got down to see the chat in maintenance meadow! We played a bit of peek-a-boo. Also hung out with this lovely blackburnian, whose song lured me from turtle pond to his spot by cleopatra's needle. Day 4 of hearing but not seeing a Tennessee lol but I will persevere #birdcp

Finally found a Tennessee willing to grace me with a good look! Next to the boathouse cafe. He was far less generous about being photographed... It was another good morning for practicing song ids in the ramble. Not many birds, but those around were very vocal! #birdcp

Many of the local babies are getting so big! Here are throwbacks to when some of them were still very smol (and so fluffy!!). Killdeer at Randall's Island and Central Park Lake goose family portrait.

The fledged Randall's Island red-tailed hawks were still hanging around the nest today, with both parents on guard nearby. A mockingbird was not happy to have these neighbors.

Some barn swallows taking a break from the midday heat on Randall's Island today. And many herons, as always! No photo, but also saw my first baltimore oriole fledglings 😊Such cute, yellow balls of fluff.
