Today we held our annual two-minute silence, had an inspiring assembly and wore our poppies with pride in honour of those who have been lost in the line of duty. Our students have observed the day with the utmost respect and reflection #RemembranceDay Manor High School

Beautiful 1940s colour footage of the Cenotaph in London. Built just 20 years earlier replacing a temporary memorial created at the end of the Great War. Sir Edwin Lutyens waived his fee for its design.

A large number of people gathered this afternoon for the Remembrance Parade Service in Oadby.

We have recently received another photograph to add to the Oadby WW1 archive….this is the 1917 marriage of Ralph Chamberlain to Constance Elliott. Poignantly, Ralph was to die on 11th November 1918.

This is sad…..but gather people have rallied round to help with replacements….

On Saturday the 27th of July we welcome the Commonwealth War Graves to our open day. Come along to say hello and learn more. This will be an exciting event.
