And the value added metric does not accurately predict the gain that is attributable to the school or teacher bc of the model that Ohio uses AND due to the other numerous variables that impact a test score that are out of control of the school or classroom. There’s a better way.

Effective teachers are not just “gifted educators.” They work hard to plan meaningful lessons. They work hard to connect with their students and inspire them. Their level of commitment always matters. And I’m so grateful for it!

Congratulations to OFHS seniors Liz Scheeff, Natalie Sprague, Shannon Voelker, Adriana DeAngelis, Olivia Pletcher, and recent graduates Jada Hauff, Reagan Sedlacek, and Addison Burkhard who went undefeated and recently clinched the 2025 U19 National Championship in Colorado!

My own three kids never came home talking about teachers who were creative or innovative.  (And these are great things.)  But they consistently talked about teachers who had high expectations, who loved teaching, and who strived to connect with their students.
