May & June are peak nesting season for Ohio’s 11 turtle species. You may encounter more turtles during this period, especially when they're crossing roadways. Be sure to move the turtle in the direction it is travelling, otherwise it may turn back around & cross the road again.

Our Conservation Teen Advisory Council (conTAC) had fun on the water earlier this month! They went for a scenic float on the Cuyahoga River. They learned about local ecosystems, watershed health & conservation efforts. What a fun, hands-on way to connect with nature & each other!

Each spring, our Ohio Div of Wildlife staff conduct snake surveys 🐍 👨‍🔬 These surveys allow our staff and volunteers to research various snakes across the state and keep Ohio snake populations healthy. It also helps us monitor many of our state endangered and threatened snakes.
