Do you have cutting edge experience in molecular biology and/or live imaging? Would you like to address one of Cancer Research's Grand Challenges? Apply to be a CRUK Postdoc in our interdisciplinary team and take a fresh look at cell plasticity in cancer. jobs.manchester.ac.uk/displayjob.asp…
Really nice to see Manchester Breast Centre PhD students Oliver Cottrell Sara Cabral and David Withy presenting posters at the ENBDC workshop in Weggis, Switzerland. Kudos to Oliver Cottrell Oliver Cottrell Manchester Breast Centre, winner of the “Glukhova-Medina @ENBDC poster prize 2023” Named in honor of Drs. Marina Glukhova and Dan Medina’s contributions to our filed. More on Dan Medina’s career: youtu.be/4YQbeNoyCac
You know a conference is going great when you spot 4 PhD students with full smiles! Excellent day 2 at Fusion Conferences #IABCR 2023!! Casey Jack Stenning Oliver Cottrell
Another week another conference, the World Tour continues. Had a great time again presenting my work at #IABCR2023 Fusion Conferences. Thanks to all involved. A few days on beaches and in jungles now and then back to the neglected cells to put all the new knowledge into practice!
Check out a short feature on my work below 👇🏼 Thank you Zuzana Sumbalova Koledova for the invitation to contribute!
What a great day the 2023 MBC Symposium has been. Thank you to everyone who came, spoke and presented posters, and to our organising committee Oliver Cottrell Sara Cabral Harry Barnes, Naomi Eastwood and MBC Director Rob Clarke See you again next year! #MBC2023
Had a fun yesterday time talking to everyone at Manchester Breast Centre about oscillations in Breast cancer. First time presenting at #MBC2023 after helping organise for several years 😁
Happy to have contributed to investigation of circadian clocks in breast cancer with Shiyang Li in Qing Jun Meng's lab funded by a collaborative Breast Cancer Now grant with Sacha Howell in Manchester Breast Centre Manchester Cancer Research Centre and Division of Cancer Sciences pnas.org/doi/epdf/10.10…
Had a great time in Germany EMBL for #EESBioOsc - hearing about all things oscillations across a dizzying range of scales and contexts. Enjoyed giving a talk on my PhD work with Papalopulu Lab Rob Clarke on Hes1 oscillations in breast cancer.
Our innovative study brings out the distinction between single cell and population-level #dynamic regulation. Single cell #oscillators can behave abnormally, despite this the population is normal due to cell #coupling mediated compensation. Development journals.biologists.com/dev/article/15…
Congratulations to our star MRC student Oliver Roeder cottrell who defended his PhD thesis on harnessing gene expression oscillations to prevent dormant cancer cells from reactivating. Exciting work that lays the foundation for new ways to prevent relapse.
