Spending NYE taking wallet snapshots and logging them with OpenTimestamps. Clarity could make this moot in 2025 but taking the time to properly complete my Safe Harbor statement as a ‘CYA’. Protecting against downside risk is the alpha.

Fun fact: according to my access logs on my Alice OpenTimestamps calendar, 34,000 items were timestamped via the web interface between Dec 30th and Jan 1st. The common advice to timestamp Bitcoin data for the IRS seems to have been popular!

🚨 BREAKING: FOR THE SECOND TIME IN U.S. HISTORY, THE #BITCOIN BLOCKCHAIN HAS BEEN USED TO SAFEGUARD OFFICIAL VOTING RESULTS Simple Proof committed the vote tally from the Williamson County Republican Party reorg convention to Bitcoin last night. bitcoinmagazine.com/news/bitcoin-b…

Frank Corva Simple Proof Good time to remind people I have a fundraiser to pay for the transaction fees the calendars use: geyser.fund/project/openti… At the moment they have enough funds for a few more months of operation at current fee levels; more funding is always appreciated. With enough funding I can

With Elon Musk and DOGE considering “blockchain tech” to preserve and track digital records it is important that they seriously consider Simple Proof as a solution. Scalable data preservation using bitcoin’s ledger + OpenTimestamps. Americans deserve the best solution.

Pro-tip: if you want to prove that Pete Hegseth actually leaked you details of US strikes on Yemen hours ahead of time – rather than you just faking a few screenshots – timestamp those screenshots with OpenTimestamps

Shinobi Yep, Bitcoin can be used for non-monetary things. What's cool about OpenTimestamps is that it can verify a document was not altered, without storing the document on-chain. Thus it has nearly infinite verification density and doesn't crowd out transactions.

Fascinating: not only has the cannabis industry been forced to use Bitcoin and cash for legal reasons for payment. But also, they've been forced to use Bitcoin-based time-stamping for legal reasons too!

I’ve found an interesting way to protect the copyright of my 3D models — by using their unique UV maps as a "fingerprint." I create previews for each 3D model and timestamp them on the blockchain via OpenTimestamps — permanently proving ownership and creation date. #aizenbart

What I love about this panel is it's basically about Stacy Scott sending some emails to Simple Proof, who timestamped the for a total cost of $12 As Stacy said, it was the easiest part of the election: “Why wouldn't you do this?” If you have data, just timestamp it!

“BTW I don't remember if we talked about this, but the other day some people were mentioning secure timestamping. You want to be able to prove that a certain document existed at a certain time in the past. Seems to me that bitcoin's stack of blocks would be perfect for this.” -

I modified my Bob OpenTimestamps calendar to create sub-1sat/vB transactions. 0.12sat/vB! Mined by SpiderPool. I'm not sure how the transaction actually got to them; I lowered the relay fees on a few of my nodes to reach as many as possible. mempool.space/tx/13c666fdf03…

Alice Use OpenTimestamps to create stronger evidence of your publishing. If AI replaced your art, it could replace your public evidence. Strong and independently verifiable timestamps of your work will be necessary for future generations to corroborate your claim.

The Internet Archive and secure timestamps of it are extremely important. An update to this work would be valuable; better if it predated widespread AI slop, but the second best time is now. petertodd.org/2017/carbon-da…
