My review of Devorah Baum’s On Marriage for The White Review is featured on today’s Arts & Letters Daily newsletter 💫 thewhitereview.org/reviews/on-mar…
This, for PVA Books, was published just before the last men's World Cup with thoughts on Qatar, Newcastle United, money, and why football can be hard to love. The opener was once the first paragraph of my book (qualifier: "it's funny because it isn't true") papervisualart.com/2023/07/01/lov…

Football Museum and some more thoughts on art, football, liveness, and empathy (and Roland Barthes!) artreview.com/when-football-…
BTW I also talked about this work on my favourite radio station Mostly on Bluesky/Threads now. For obvious reasons for RTÉ lyric fm (and it earned me the best title, Senior Artball Correspondent) rte.ie/radio/lyricfm/…

The saddest news. The White Review is one of the reasons I moved to London. It's the best place I've ever written. It's where I met some of my best friends and been edited by the best editors and learned so much. I appreciate everyone who were ever part of it it was the best ❤️
Signing off for the year from my temporary job ArtReview_ Text from newsletter Zander Leissle and I finished today all these gorgeous end of year essays (from rahel aima راهل ايما, Rishi Dastidar 🔱🌊, Harry Thorne, James Hansen and many others) are here artreview.com/category/the-y… Here's to better times!
