Fabulous weekend speaking about ‘the criminal in crime fiction’ at Gladstone’s Library as part of Alibis in the Archives lineup. So great to catch up with Orlando Murrin Martin Edwards Martine.Bailey JC Briggs Matthew Booth

I can’t believe I get to do this again. I am thrilled to announce that my second novel, The Barbecue at Number 9, will be published by the wonderful team at Hutchinson Heinemann next spring. I’ve put a little outline below, & it’s available for pre-order now via the link in my bio

The winner of Debut Book Of The Year is… The List of Suspicious Things by Jennie Godfrey #fingerprintawards #capitalcrime25

What a fab evening at the @capitalcrime1 Fingerprint Awards, expertly presented by @stephlunch Thank you so much @davidhheadley& Lizzie Curle & @davidhheadley. We won Best Debut & Best Publisher Campaign & I nearly fell off my chair. THANK YOU to everyone who voted! #booktwitter

Booklovers of Devon - join us on Weds 2 July for the launch of William Shaw's fantastic new thriller series, steeped in the atmosphere of Teignmouth. #TheRedShore had me on a knife-edge from page 1, with characters that jump off the page. Hemlock Press @pavilionsteignmouth

A night of pure joy Capital Crime's Fingerprint Awards last night, where lovely Jennie Godfrey scooped Debut of the Year (and received an ovation). Charismatically presented by Steph McGovern, warm thanks to David Henry Headley and team.

About last night. What a brilliant evening celebrating the Fingerprint Awards at Capital Crime Thank you to the brilliant Steph McGovern for hosting it.

A shiny award! CITY OF DESTRUCTION, the fifth in the Malabar House series, wins best historical crime novel at the Capital Crime Fingerprint Awards. Thank yous all round :)

Highlights from our brilliant final event of the day hosted by Nadine Matheson: Linwood Barclay on the theme of going ‘too far’ with writing: “There’s nothing that you can write that’s more ridiculous than what’s actually happening in the world right now!”

Excellent from Orlando Murrin but I’d add some more. 1) Salt won’t kill dried yeast. 2) Don’t use flour to thicken sauces. Use cornflour. 3) Alcohol evaporates whether you set light to it or not. Flambée is just performance. There’s so many more canards. You could write a book.
