This is a really nice piece by Faiz and I agree with much of it. One real irony with the twin obsessions with both authenticity and paid influencers is that by and large, Americans do not view people who are paid to say what they say as authentic. These goals are in real tension.

We have had a decades-long experiment with denying people bankruptcy rights and it has resulted in people staying in debt for decades into retirement. Restoring peoples' right to bankruptcy and having an exhaust valve in the student loan system is VITAL.

I know Abundance is about like a homeowners association in Berkeley stopping housing construction or whatever & I probably agree with them, but it is just so disconnected from the framework I encountered in a decade of economic policymaking on the Hill.
