This is huge: Llama-v2 is open source, with a license that authorizes commercial use! This is going to change the landscape of the LLM market. Llama-v2 is available on Microsoft Azure and will be available on AWS, Hugging Face and other providers Pretrained and fine-tuned

We believe an open approach is the right one for the development of today's Al models. Today, we’re releasing Llama 2, the next generation of Meta’s open source Large Language Model, available for free for research & commercial use. Details ➡️ bit.ly/3Dh9hNp

DINOv2, a SOTA ViT trained by Meta on 142 million images, is now part of 🤗 Transformers! It's one of the strongest vision backbones at the moment, so I created a tutorial on training a linear classifier on top of it for semantic segmentation, using DINOv2's frozen features 1/2

Today we’re announcing two new updates in our computer vision work — a new, expanded license for our DINOv2 model and the release of FACET, a comprehensive new benchmark dataset to help evaluate and improve fairness in vision models. More details ➡️ bit.ly/3L35E1U 🧵

Another banger by Théo Moutakanni : RayDINO, a DINO for chest X-ray. Excellent results on a ton of benchmarks with the frozen model, with great generalization and low bias. Check it out! arxiv.org/abs/2405.01469

🚀 The Future of AI in Healthcare... Language models and generative AI have attracted all the buzz, but I think 2025 is the year we see transformational breakthroughs around computer vision in healthcare. At Virgo, we've been exploring how DINOv2 has the potential to deliver

Very cool work from Gaoyue Zhou from NYU showing that you can get zero-shot goal reaching behavior by training a world model on top of frozen DINOv2!

Another amazing use of DINOv2 out there. It is both humbling and heartwarming to see such hard problems being tackled in part leveraging your work!

AI is helping researchers identify therapies for cancer patients. Orakl Oncology trained our DINOv2 model on organoid images to more accurately predict patient responses in clinical settings. This approach outperformed specialized models and is helping accelerate their research.

1/n Introducing ReDi (Representation Diffusion): a new generative approach that leverages a diffusion model to jointly capture – Low-level image details (via VAE latents) – High-level semantic features (via DINOv2)🧵

Why does Meta open-source its models? I talked about it with Maciej Kawecki - This Is IT looking at Dino, our computer vision model with applications in forest mapping, medical research, agriculture and more. Open-source boosts AI access, transparency, and safety. youtube.com/watch?v=eNGafi…
