Have you heard the story of the Brazilian dinosaur Irritator? 🦖🇧🇷 This dinosaur, a relative of Spinosaurus from the Cretaceous of northeastern Brazil 🌵🇧🇷, had its fossil remains taken to Germany 🇩🇪 — and that’s where they remain to this day. 👇🏼🧶 #IrritatorBelongstoBR

This is completely insane...was not expecting to wake up to this. Even if it's an edited Canis with Aenocyon genes this is still a landmark achievement 🧬 Hopefully this will be used to increase genetic diversity of critically endangered species Wild #deextinction

Wolves (Canis or Aenocyon) have thousands of protein-coding genes, so the technology is obviously not at a point yet to yield high fidelity (20 edits only)...that being said, and publicity aside, editing extant genomes to express extinct traits is, well, quite remarkable...

I am so excited that the last chapter of my dissertation is published. In it, we investigate why crocodylomorphs seem to be so good at making it through mass extinctions but also why their responses to these events appear to differ. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/pa…

One of the most interesting questions in tetanuran theropod evolution is... where do megaraptorans go? They're 'generic' and hence hard to place, but some skull features (flat frontal bones, some relatively small teeth, a stretched snout) make them look like tyrannosauroids 1/n

It's 2025 and apparently still controversial to not want children anywhere to suffer from hunger, bombs or any other forms of lethal violence. Or is it only controversial if these children are white? Palestinian children deserve to exist.

O Pirula é, sem dúvidas, a maior referência de divulgação científica do país e um grande paleontólogo. Aprendi muito com ele ainda nos meus primeiros anos de graduação, com seu jeito irreverente e didático. Desejo pronta recuperação! #voltapirulla
