This #ThrowbackThursday I’m going back 7 years when our NDP govt broke ground on the Calgary Cancer Centre and ended decades of political interference and stalling by conservatives. Today an amazing building designed with patients, staff and medical experts has opened. #abhealth

Congratulations on the opening of the new Calgary Cancer Centre yesterday! A huge thank you to Sarah Hoffman, Rachel Notley, and all those whose hard work made this moment possible.

Congratulations to Susan Holt for her historic win in New Brunswick tonight! Proof that a government and campaign focused on division and anger, targeting vulnerable people, can be beat. Hey, neighbours in Saskatchewan! Your chance comes next! 🎉

At a time of record deaths on our streets, record frostbite amputations, and a record number of unhoused folks in our province, why are the UCP leaving federal dollars meant to end encampments on the table? Albertans deserve better. My full statement below. #ableg

Educational assistants and support staff are key to helping our kids learn and succeed. They deserve better than the lowest per-student education funding in the country. They deserve fair bargaining. They deserve to make a decent living. They deserve our support. 💜

We have been warning for well over a year about investor's uncertainty in Alberta due to the UCP's moratorium on renewables, followed by the UCP's vague and random rules targeted at the sector, and now the UCP's prolonged uncertainty around the electricity market. Industry

Danielle Smith Naheed Nenshi Charlie Angus Naheed’s been busy talking to both federal politicians and industry stakeholders while you’ve been talking conspiracy theories with Tucker Carlson and Jordan Peterson. Were they not able to help you?

I have always believed that the best solutions come from collaboration: working with all orders of government and stakeholders to find solutions. Even where we don’t agree, we need to listen to and understand each other. These last-minute amendments to Bill C-59, combined with

I volunteered at the Edmonton Food Bank a few weeks ago and was told that they’re seeing a growing number of households with two adults who have jobs, but still can’t afford food for their families. Such incredibly disrespectful and out of touch comments from the UCP.

There you have it folks. UCP priorities this fall: Nothing you asked for. Nothing on affordability. Nothing on the promised tax cut. Nothing on improving healthcare. Nothing on housing.

While the UCP are busy doing things this legislative session that no one wants or asked for, here’s what the Alberta NDP will be fighting for: - better jobs - affordability measures - better economy - accessible health care - properly funded education We’re listening.

The Calgary Food Bank had “485,900 total annual visits. That number is up by more than 100,000 compared to the year prior…” As Albertans struggle with the cost of living, Smith’s government only focuses on trying to get through her leadership review. #yyc #abpoli #ableg

Despite what the UCP says, we need the South Edmonton hospital. I will continue to speak on the need for this hospital until the day it opens its doors. #abpoli #ableg

Another terrible report card paints affordability challenges here in Alberta. Since the UCP government came to power (2019), the number of Calgarians visiting Calgary foodbank for basic food has increased mote more than twice. Life is not affordable and Albertans deserve

Today is a heavy day.  We’re concerned with the anti-trans bills that were tabled today.     As a politician I will tell you that I have been in every corner of this province these last four months. We’ve talked to Albertans of every background and I will tell you that punching

In the May 2023 general election, Smith campaigned on health & education spending and a tax cut (still waiting on that one). When the election was over, Smith pivoted to pulling out of the CPP, blowing up AHS, adopting anti-vax and anti-transgender policies.
