Violence against women is a horrific violation of human rights, a public health crisis, and a major obstacle to sustainable development. Let’s build a world that refuses to tolerate violence against women anywhere, in any form, once and for all.

This #16Days of Activism, we: 📣 Say there is #NoExcuse for gender-based violence. 📣 Call for support and investment in women’s rights organizations. 📣 Challenge gender stereotypes that contribute to a culture of violence against women & girls, online and offline.

I've just invoked Art.99 of the UN Charter - for the 1st time in my tenure as Secretary-General. Facing a severe risk of collapse of the humanitarian system in Gaza, I urge the Council to help avert a humanitarian catastrophe & appeal for a humanitarian ceasefire to be declared.
