The dogs are back! Kids can read to a gentle, well-trained therapy dog at Jefferson Branch on Tuesday, January 9, at 4 p.m., lessening the anxiety some have reading aloud and helping to strengthen reading skills and boost confidence. Presented by Love on a Leash volunteers.

Marcia Seligson presents her memoir "My Mother Would Hate This Book," on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at Lamanda Park Branch. Seligson presents a funny, intense, political, theatrical, entertaining and deeply personal one-hour discussion followed by Q&A, book selling and signing.
