It’s exactly 10 years since the final episode of Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Clarkson’s contract was not renewed after an ‘unprovoked physical attack’ on his producer in March 2015. His co-hosts refused to present future shows without him.

Whilst Glastonbury is in full swing, it’s just been announced that #Devon and #Cornwall have decided to cancel their planned, joint 1960’s & 1970’s Retro Music festival. Apparently the cancellation comes, following a heated row over whether to put The Jam or Cream on first.

It’s another glorious afternoon in #Kent and my Mother-in-Law’s garden is a riot of colour. As Smashie and Nicey might well have said “It’s all Poppy-doodle-doo-tastic here mate!”

The current heatwave reminded me of this CD. It remains unopened from 2008, when I interviewed the French singer/songwriter Charles Aznavour. He was in a remote studio for our chat and couldn’t sign the album so I did the next best thing and asked Michel Poisson. #BitNiche

Today in 1968, The Equals were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘Baby Come Back’. The track was written by the extremely talented Eddy Grant. The song was covered in 1994 by Pato Banton with Robin and Ali Campbell of UB40, and became a No.1 hit all over again!

What a glorious day for the start of the Kent County Show 2025 Kent County Show I’ve got so many happy memories of the times spent there. One year the entire BBC Kent stand was turned into a tropical beach, complete with sand, palm trees and a live reggae band! #HappySummer

It was exactly 21 years ago today, when cash could no longer be used on any of London's 24,500 buses, in a move that Transport for London said would save them ÂŁ24m a year. They said a prepaid or concessionary ticket, Oyster card or contactless payment would be needed to travel.
