A1 Feedback provides the recipient with the opportunity to dig deeper, to think and reflect further, to improve, grow, and get better; great potential to change for the better. Feedback not acted upon usually means no change, staying put. #formativechat

Feedback needs to be meaningful, not just a static # or grade. We need to train students how to respond to feedback until they realize it's value and how it leads to improvement. Sometimes "right/wrong" feedback leads to try again, but sometimes they need more. #formativechat

A2 Biggest barrier could be the number of students needing feedback. They all need it; how much and how often will vary. Perhaps based on need but also on a rotating basis for equity. #formativechat

A2: Important to train and coach students in how to give feedback to each other. That helps them to solidify their understandings and also to practice and refine their thinking; also provides opportunity for using the academic vocab. #formativechat

A3: Maybe hold back the number or the grade. Tell students they have x-number of errors and challenge them to find them and report back in order to improve and then receive score. Put it back on them. #formativechat

A3: Build a culture of wanting to do better, strive higher; provide steady opportunity for retakes after showing evidence of responding to feedback. #formativechat

A3: Ask students, "What did you learn from that activity/assessment?" Once they respond, provide letter grade or score. This gives more meaning to the grade. #formativechat

Shout out to all the educators who view hallway duty, bus duty, lunch duty, and any other duty over the course of the day, as an opportunity to greet, speak with, and acknowledge students in a non-academic space. There's so much opportunity during these moments. #edchat
