Making connections to build capacity

A nice way to kick of the school holidays over here in Victoria. A big thanks to Alice Vigors and Teacher Takeaway Podcast team for having me.

A big day reflecting on Collective Teacher Efficacy. Ended with an amazing evening continuing the conversation and catching up with an inspiring group of people. Thanks Jenni Donohoo, Dr Tim O'Leary, Sue Bryen and Helen Butler.

Excited to be back this semester for Mathematics Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment (B-12). Looking forward to working with pre-service teachers, sharing effective practice and exploring the future of education together.

And that's a wrap.... feeling privileged to work with a new group of Victorian Department of Education Learning Specialists in both Primary and Secondary settings. This week leaders shared their FISO 2.0 improvement cycles and how the last 8 weeks of PL has supported improvement and change.

Always fun working with the staff at Aitken College. This time we went even deeper with Problem Solving. Exploring and critiquing lesson structures that support the development of Mathematical Proficiency. Their kitchen garden serves as an enjoyable environment to engage in PL.

Wrapping up with another group of Primary and Secondary Victorian Department of Education Learning Specialists. Enjoyed listening to how they plan to incorporate data and evidence processes and protocols into their improvement cycles to improve teaching practice and student learning outcomes.

An insightful couple of weeks with the amazing staff at Aitken College. We reviewed the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0, unpacked a progression of learning, developed an F-6 Scope and Sequence and ensured Mathematical Proficiency was developed.
