Waltham Forest Council continues to support #ULEZ expansion in Aug. However with Government failing to provide the levels of financial support it has done elsewhere, Labourstone and @GracieMaeW have called on Sadiq Khan to see whether the criteria of the #ScrappageScheme could be improved.

We're delighted Sadiq Khan has extended scrappage scheme support for those receiving child benefit, small businesses, charities and more as part of the ULEZ expansion. Earlier this week @GracieMaeW and Labourstone wrote to Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan asking for more help for WF residents.

Ahead of the Autumn Statement our Cabinet member for Housing and Regeneration Ahsan Khan wrote to Sir Jeremy Hunt MP urging him to unfreeze Local Housing Allowance to allow us to help those who are at risk of homelessness in Waltham Forest. We hope the government will use AS to act.

After the Chancellor Sir Jeremy Hunt MP announced an unfreezing of Local Housing Allowance rates in the Autumn Statement, our Cabinet Lead for Housing and Regeneration Ahsan Khan is pleased at this lobbying win. We will use every available opportunity to campaign for our residents.

The Tories are unrepentant about the damage she caused and only The Labour Party will run an economy which works for working people.
