We explore the factors that shape whether individuals frame discrimination as a personal or a group experience in France. Among minorities, awareness of discrimination through higher education increases the likelihood of reporting group (but not personal) discrimination.

Among the French majority, perceived group (but not personal) discrimination is more frequent among those with a strong ethnoracial identity and far-right political ideology.
