New paper from Paula Trotter and others reporting acute tryptophan depletion enhances ratings of robotic, human and vicarious affective #touch. #psychopharmacology #neuroscience 👇
Important work from within our group, led by the wonderful Paula Trotter. In this study depletion of central serotonin increased ratings of pleasantness for stroking touch. Effects on pain suggested no change in cold pressor threshold and a potential reduction in pain tolerance.
