One last hurrah in Halifax before we head back to Montreal! Thanks for the great conference Canadian Society for Immunology, we loved our time by the ocean 🌊. The Lachine Canal just isn’t the same 😔 #CSI2022

Last weekend we had a very special event: our first Mandl lab wedding! 😍 Ph.D. student Connie (connie shen) got married in Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain, and she boldly invited the whole lab to come witness it. Congrats Connie! 🥳

After they learned what everyone studied, two patrons at this little gay bar in Galveston TX started chanting “Cell migration! Cell migration Surest sign of a successful Gordon Research Conferences 😃

Our aMAZ(E)ing #MidweekMovie comes from connie shen, Mandl Lab, Nienke Vrisekoop and colleagues. They discover that neutrophils with segmented nuclei have a speed advantage when migrating through confinement spaces. 📖J Cell Science: journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/13…

Why do neutrophils have multi-lobed nuclei? 🧐 Does this enable their rapid migration through tight spaces? 🏃‍♀️💨 In this study, we sought to answer this question experimentally 🔬 Here is what we found 👇

Wondering what we can learn from the T cell receptor beta sequence about the self-reactivity of a T cell? check out our paper in Cell Systems where we used machine learning to ask this very question👇: cell.com/cell-systems/f…

10 years after I helped generating an Otub1 knock-out mouse model in the durocherlab, now Dr. Vincent M Luo cracked it down... With the immense help of the Mandl Lab, he identified the γ-Subunit Gng2 as a novel substrate of Otub1 in splenic B cells. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

Check out our recent publication in collaboration with the Khadra Lab at McGill University - where computational modelling 🖥️ and experimental immunology 🔬join forces to study the role of T cell diversity and antigen binding strength on chronic infection clearance! Find out more 👇
