Can a low dose of #fish oil, similar to that from two fatty fish meals a week, raise the Omega- 3 Index (O3I) and improve physical fitness in healthy older adults? Visit bit.ly/34FjUYX to read a study on the topic in Nutrition Bulletin's latest issue! Gregory Peoples

Congrats Michael J. Macartney for your latest contribution demonstrating the critical role of omega-3 DHA for optimal heart function during ischemia and reperfusion Centre for Medical and Exercise Physiology, UOW UOW Research rdcu.be/cmHKO

We’re teaming up with the Sydney Swans to help in the fight against heart disease! ❤️ 🦢 The Swans will support Heart Foundation initiatives and directly impact more than 200 life-saving research projects. Whatever your code or club, this is progress we can all barrack for 🙌

Ahead of the 1-year to go mark until Wollongong2022, CEO Stu Taggart sat down with Bicycling Australia to discuss the logistics of planning the event, share some insight on the course & discuss the economic boost the event will bring to our region🚲 bicyclingaustralia.com.au/news/2022-worl…

Exciting things to follow from Team Omega Performance Nutrition 🎉 Seems fitting that our 1st tweet is a reminder to re-read this excellent review of the underlying mechanisms of action of omega-3 written by our own mentor Prof. Peter McLennan (40+ years researching n-3 🥸) link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Centre for Medical and Exercise Physiology, UOW via P3R longitudinal study in BMT recruits. The influence of a basic military training diet on whole blood fatty acid profile and the Omega-3 Index of Australian Army recruits. | Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism cdnsciencepub.com/doi/abs/10.113…

Wow😮this is a first... 12 weeks of Basic military training diet reduced the #O3I in 100% of Aus Army recruits. Luckily, we know how to fix this! Great work Gregory Peoples & Centre for Medical and Exercise Physiology, UOW dx.doi.org/10.1139/apnm-2…

New by Matthew Brook & Centre Of Metabolism, Ageing & Physiology (COMAP). #n3 in older females produced hypertrophy in type II muscle fibres (which have previously been shown to preferentially incorporate DHA; Fig below doi.org/10.1016/j.plef…). Markers of n3 membrane composition are crucial in future studies.
