This study shows that people not getting Covid vaccines when they were eligible for them resulted in 7000 preventable severe illnesses or deaths. How many preventable illnesses and deaths were caused by the NHS failing to offer everyone a Covid vaccine? theguardian.com/world/2024/oct…

4 weeks today MPs vote whether to progress with legalising medically assisted suicide in England & Wales. I made this documentary with BBC The Open University Burning Bright to explain why me & many other disabled people are opposed. bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod…

"We know many in our society think our lives are not worth living. "We also saw how quickly Disabled people’s lives were treated as of lesser value during Covid.  Legalising assisted dying will only reinforce and perpetuate this.” - Inclusion London

Amazing blog post by Touretteshero explaining with citations and links why the assisted dying bill is scary and wrong. It includes links to write to your MP which I'll try to do tonight despite being v low on spoons atm.

Looking at DFGs for a friend and saw this: "Anyone who is registered or eligible to be registered as a disabled person can apply" Registration ended in the '90s. There is no "register" of disabled people.

“What’s really important is to look not just at who might benefit from assisted dying, but at who this Bill might harm. “Ultimately, the safeguards in this Bill are just not robust enough" - Liberty standard.co.uk/news/politics/…

There’s something surreal about watching NHS staff warn flu and covid overwhelming hospitals whilst ditching masks and testing. No medic I know takes LFTs anymore. Many see a clinically vulnerable patient with a mask and don’t bother to offer to wear one too. Join the dots, lads.
