Kenyan police cornered peaceful protesters in a blocked alley, beat them up, then teargassed them. "Larry ukienda tutauliwa," one of them said. "If you leave, we'll get killed." Police brutality during protests against police brutality

Good to see you Ian. At KNH and Iโ€™ve documented the cases. So far Iโ€™ve seen 18 patients most being bullet wounds. The most severe one is Mike Kamau who was shot 6 times and heโ€™s on diapers and a pipe to help him eat. He canโ€™t even breathe well. Heโ€™s a law student. We have 2

Hundreds of residents in Mawego, Homa Bay County marching carrying the casket of the late Albert Ojwang. No one was paid to attend, no mobilisation....the message to the regime is silent and clear

31 people dead so far and still counting, from yesterdays #SabaSaba2025 protests. This is hot on the heals of the 15 dead from the June 25th protests less than two weeks ago. I fear we are slowly being disensitised as to the value of human life in Kenya.

We are now witnessing the ugly side of the youth unemployment equation. In addition to genuine protestors and hired goons in recent protests, the uncomfortable reality is that many neighborhoods are seeing organized groupings of local youths out to loot businesses. #SabaSaba2025
