Forest have started the brighter of the two teams -- no concerted effort from Chelsea yet to try and feed on an underlying tensions here. In fact the opposite, gift-wrapping a couple of good chances, both passed up though by Forest.

A midfield mismatch this. Gibbs-White excellent, while Douglas Luiz, Sangare and Anderson have pulled #cfc's makeshift trio all over the place. Whole structure looks disjointed for the visitors. Be surprised if Caicedo is not summoned at half time, at this rate.

Some improvements towards the end of the half as Joao Pedro dropped deeper for Chelsea. But Forest by far the better side and should be ahead. Applause from the home fans at the HT whistle.

Forest clearly funnelling bodies into central areas and getting around Awoniyi quickly, Gibbs-White's movement making things more complicated. (Average positions crammed into the centre-circle here). Can see that Chelsea's structure and build-up has been... off (from opta).

Postecoglou just shakes his head in disbelief. Igor Jesus now hits the post. Not going in for Forest, and Marinakis has long since left.

Full time. Comfortable in the end for Chelsea, so much better after the break and fitting that it was Neto who led that improvement, he was the best of those first-half starters. But Postecoglou will rue those missed first half opportunities (and Sels' error). Brutal result.

Waiting for the pressers, Ange Postecoglou has been sacked as #nffc head coach. No longer than 20 minutes after full time.

The writing was on the wall when Marinakis walked out after an hour. Report as Postecoglou is sacked after defeat at the City Ground: thetimes.com/sport/football…

Maresca: “I didn’t speak with Ange, I didn’t see him. I feel very sorry for him. But we have said many times, this is a business that if you don’t win games then the consequence for all of us is exactly the same.” #CFC

Maresca again says he's not concerned about discipline issue, says he liked the player's desire. He said of Fernandez that he has a small problem, not sure of availability for Ajax. Fofana's absence, he said they need to "protect" him (framed in similar way to Lavia/James)

Marco Silva is Forest's first choice to replace Ange Postecoglou, but they've not had an indication he would leave Fulham mid-season. Dyche is a serious contender but reluctant to take short-term deal. With Charlotte Duncker + Matt Lawton: thetimes.com/sport/football…
