Anderson pitching loads the bases with 2 walks and a hit batter, but Hunter Anderson escapes without allowing a run, so it's still 4-3 Arabian Baseball leading. Middle of the 6th. Rob Hunt

HHC teams Arabian Baseball and GCHS Cougars meeting for the third time this season. Greenfield-Central won a doubleheader, 6-5 and 4-1. Gavin Markus pitched 6 innings in the first game, and he's starting again tonight for GC. First-game stats: 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 10 K. Rob Hunt

In the top of the first, Arabian Baseball gets two hard-hit balls and a walk but nothing to show for it. Flyout to right, flyout to center, and a pick-off at first after the walk. Rob Hunt

In the second, Arabian Baseball gets a walk, sacrifice bunt and infield single against GCHS Cougars. But they leave 2 baserunners in scoring position, so we're still scoreless heading to the bottom of the second. Rob Hunt

Markus has spent much of the first three innings outside of the strike zone, leading to two walks and at-bats going deep into the count. But he's now struck out 4 of the last 5 Arabian Baseball batters. It's 0-0 starting the bottom of the third. Rob Hunt

Maifield is dealing for Arabian Baseball. Three infield pop-ups in the second, and two strikeouts in the third, sandwiched around a nifty to-his-knees catch by Colin Axel-Adams in right field. Rob Hunt

The Arabian Baseball batters haven't hit a ball hard since the two long flyouts in the first inning. And a fourth-inning walk was erased by a caught stealing. Rob Hunt

Pitching change for GCHS Cougars. Freshman Bradley Martin came in with 2 outs in the fifth and an Arabian Baseball runner on 1st. Keesling stole second before he was stranded by a strikeout. Still 0-0. Rob Hunt

In the bottom of the 5th, GCHS Cougars strike first. A walk and a hard single to left-center paved the way for a messy situation at third base. The throw got away and went to the third base-line fence. Cougars now lead Arabian Baseball 1-0 going to the 6th. Rob Hunt

With the lead, GCHS Cougars turned to Mississippi State recruit Parker Rhodes. He got two quick outs to finish the top of the 6th, leaving Arabian Baseball looking at a 1-0 deficit. Rob Hunt
