Challenging guide day for #WildTroutTrust auction winner, Ian on #Pickering Beck. Cold wind, low water & few risers. We had a no. of wild trout & grayling, to dry flies. Ian so impressed with the beck he's thinking of joining the PFA & he lives in Suffolk! pickeringfishery.co.uk

Pickering beck is very low & clear but fishing v well. Fish rising to Dance flies & the first Mayflies. Use light lines, long leaders with size 18 & smaller flies unless the fish are really taking the big Mayflies. Fishing this afternoon was great. pickeringfishery.co.uk

Tough guiding on a The Wild Trout Trust Auction Day at Pickering Beck yesterday; low water & the chilly NW breeze killed off the expected Mayfly hatch with just a handful of duns & spinners late in the afternoon. Despite less than perfect conditions Richard managed to land 15 trout!
