Spent two exciting days attending Synchrotron Electrochemistry workshop organised by Diamond Light Source, presenting our work on operando XAS and learning the frontier development in this important field. Plus a visit to Ludmilla Steier, my 3rd trip to Oxford is truly fruitful!

Thanks to University Global Partnership Network funding from University of Surrey I got to visit Pablo Sebastián Fernández again last week for in-depth FTIR in glycerol electrolysis. So nice to hear all the fundamental studies being conducted there, and we have been provided with very Brazilian group breakfast. Thank you all!

The Loughborough trip is combined with a visit to Yi Liu and the #polymer #processing laboratory. It is really impressive to see all the near industrial scale equipment. Hope to combine the polymer expertise we have in SurreyMechEngSci and develop impactful research collaborations

On Monday the Women in Engineering Society hosted Rana Marrington from RDE Uni of Surrey in SurreyMechEngSci to share career advice beyond academia to our PGRs. Having hopped between the two worlds (academia/industry) myself, it is nice to see our PGRs seeking advice early on.
