This past month have been tense in our household. Dear wife is an Infectious Diseases Specialist and myself an ENT surgeon. We have both been on call a lot recently. Our phones ring through the night. We take turns waking up. Weekends are spent in the hospital.

Just so you know what’s happening in some Victorian Public Hospitals. Reduction of face to face clinics. Reduction of operating. N95 and eyeshield/facemask all the time. Team splitting. Avoiding common areas. Public in private operating ramping up.

I lost my father to a Covid breakthrough case today. He was 85 and fully vaxxed. So, when you see the stats today, know that one of the 18 who died from Covid was a man named Jerry Maffeo who happened to be my favorite person in the whole world. I am shattered.
