This is a full-on admission that Ethereum's core differentiator – adding functionality at the cost of complexity – has been a failure. Now, at the deathbed of the asset, they want to go back to simplicity – the same thing they criticized Bitcoin for.

It's funny how my Bitcoin price expectations have shifted over the years. At first I thought BTC would have really matured if it hit 50k. Then I started thinking 100K and then a million. Now I think BTC will mature into the eight figures. Who knows what's next? Nine figures?
