The first CT scan of a patient's brain was taken on this day in 1971. The images from these scans took over 2 hours to be processed by algebraic reconstruction techniques on a large computer.

How cool is this? A relative in China sent me a QR code that took me to a site where one can read their radiology report, view the images in a mobile DICOM viewer (complete with viewing and reformatting tools), and pay for a consultation with a radiologist over phone or WeChat.
