I like July 4 because it confirms my view that writing legal documents criticizing the government is very good and patriotic.

Is the DOJ Civil Rights Division front office hard at work today like it was on Juneteenth? I’m told that we have too many non-working federal holidays. So I would imagine they would work on No Kings Day, just as they did on No Masters Day.

In the Brennan Center's State Court Report I outline what "natural rights" are in state constitutional law & then review some recent action in that area. Natural rights go by other names, such as "inherent" or "unalienable" & often they're enumerated too. 1/2

A new Zoning Justice Project case, in 4 steps: 1) America has a #housingcrisis. 2) Property owner tries to build new housing (ie, backyard cottage). 3) Gov't blocks housing b/c it doesn't like *who* may live there. 4) Property owner gets w/Institute for Justice (Matt Liles/Ari Bargil) & sues.

A lot of people talk tough about property rights on the internet. But Institute for Justice does the work every single day—in courthouses, state houses, and meeting houses all across America.
