We are starting day one of lectures here Tyndale Theological Seminary NL with a lecture on OT textual criticism. John Meade is using Isaiah 53 as his main text. Lots of great questions from these students! Tomorrow we cover NT textual criticism using the synoptic divorce passages.

We’re back today teaching the history of the Bible at Tyndale Theological Seminary NL with Peter Gurry teaching New Testament textual criticism by walking us through the issues in the divorce passages in the Gospels. More great questions from these students!

A very nice summary of the church’s proper relationship to the Scriptures from the Leiden Synopsis (Disp. 2, sect. 30). The church has no authority over the Scriptures but only “service and proclamation.”

I have to think Peter J. Williams will find his heart strangely warmed by this clarification from the Leiden Synopsis in the first part of the section on canon on the “improper use of the singular.”
