Today, organometallic chemistry suffered the tremendous loss of outstanding teacher, mentor, and scientist Prof. Jeff Byers. But to me, he was a grad school friend who grew into a colleague, collaborator, and conference buddy. His loss will be felt by many for a long time.

So sad to hear that Jeff Byers, an outstanding scholar and contributor to the science community, passed away. My condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and students during this very difficult time.
