One team Will Warren and Jim Root think can make the tournament this year? The South Florida Bulls. “Wes Enis and Pinion together is gonna be awesome. I think that’s a great backcourt.” Check out the full episode of STATS by Will & Jim here: basketunderreview.com/stats-by-will-…

Really well-done piece by Cole Amundson of our sister site, Busting Brackets. Syracuse basketball point guard Naithan George, a Georgia Tech transfer, checks in at No. 52 here. George is expected to start at PG for the Orange in the upcoming campaign. 🧡🔽

From Cincinnati coach Wes Miller on Jizzle James: “Jizzle James has been dealing with personal issues throughout the summer. We removed him from the team last month. He is currently not a member of our basketball program. As this is a personal matter, I will have no further

The Horizon League Tournament drops a new format -- and it's got an interesting twist. After the first round, the two worst first-round winners (by seed, not by point differential) will play again in the second round with a trip to the semis on the line.

I don’t think we’re giving Virginia Tech Men's Basketball enough love this offseason. Neoklis Avdalas is the real deal — he’s got legitimate First-Round upside. We’ve got a 6-foot-9, three-level scoring, crafty and playmaking point forward in the ACC Men's Basketball. It doesn’t get much better than that.

A basketball note: Greg Gard and Wisconsin have promoted grad manager Eli Wilke to Basketball Operations Coordinator Wilke has impressed with his scouting work in the department, as well as helping to identify and recruit transfer portal targets. Strong internal hire #Badgers

I wrote about Aberdeen -- an explosive and lengthy combo-guard who seems to THRIVE in clutch moments -- in my latest piece and found an interesting nugget: In his 5 starts with the Gators, he averaged 14.4 PPG with a 3.3 assist-turnover ratio, according to Drew Franklin.

Great news out of Austin. Excited to see what Traore can bring to the table. Elite rebounder. Double-double threat. Almost like a traditional back-to-the-basket big, however, he can slot in at the 4 and is quite the versatile big defensively.

Highly intriguing question. Here’s what comes to mind right away -- I like to think of these as the "X-factors" - Denzel Aberdeen - Tre White - Ohio State's new frontcourt in Tilly/Ojianwuna - Ty Rodgers (please be healthy!) - Christian Anderson - Jalen Warley - Andrew Rohde

I cannot stress enough how important Pack and Reid will be for Oklahoma Basketball this season. We know what Pack brings to the table. The veteran guard is a career 40% shooter from three. Reid = upside. Physical finisher (over both shoulders), good footwork and can stretch the floor.
