Similar to forest fungi, #MarineFungi recycle nutrients supporting the growth of other marine life. They can also parasitize algae, managing their population size & composition which influences how much food is available for larger animals such as fish and polar bears. #MBAArctic

These are #yeasts from our marine fungi culture collection compete on agar plates, giving a first insight into marine yeast-yeast interactions. All strains tested inhibit some other strains, but some are better ‘killers’ than others, even being self-inhibitory. #MBAMMCE

Researchers need funding, but more than anything we need a habitable planet to live on. Universities should be leading the way in setting & sticking to climate goals. I have admired amazing climate scientists at University of Exeter for 8 yrs but massive deals with Shell are shameful.
