Those who serve give so much — as do all they leave behind. A complete standing ovation in the House of Representatives today as we all rose to honor the sister of a fallen Michigan soldier.

UPDATE: Michigan House Republicans and the Governor just agreed to a deal that will provide crucial auxiliary funding to those in need because of the federal government shutdown. If we can work together in a bipartisan fashion and put the people first — so can Washington.

Not everyone respects or appreciates law enforcement the way they should. But we ALL benefit from it.
