I think AI is going to usher in a gold age of infra, not obviate it. It's just so clear that good CS fundamentals result in better AI built systems. Vibe coding works better with type safety, languages where syntax maps closely to semantics, referential transparency, tight

ENTERPRISE AI: BUILD AGENTS, NOT TOOLS In the past 2 weeks, I've met several AI agent tooling startups that have each realized that the biggest problem in large enterprises is NOT the tooling to build, test and deploy agents, but that these enterprises don't have the talent

I attended a vibe coding hackathon recently and used the chance to build a web app (with auth, payments, deploy, etc.). I tinker but I am not a web dev by background, so besides the app, I was very interested in what it's like to vibe code a full web app today. As such, I wrote

A truism of CS is that you need to understand at least one level of abstraction below where you operate. - OS devs -> hardware - systems devs-> OS - app devs-> systems Vibe coding is no exception.

I've been using Brokk to write Brokk for months so I have Opinions on the best models to use for code. First: if you put a gun to my head and made me choose just one, it's Gemini 2.5 Pro. Fortunately I can and do use other models when they are a better fit. 🧵

While I agree in part with Judah's conclusion, his comparison makes no sense. Low code platforms are easier to use because they provide higher level abstractions. But in doing so they necessarily create platform specific interfaces, tend to create walled gardens (e.g. Flash)

What does America get from foreign students? - They subsidize American students' education - They inject life into small towns across America - They do a large portion of America's STEM research noahpinion.blog/p/america-need…

This French Open final was brutal but epic. What a game. Couldn’t watch it live so just watched the highlights. Brought back memories of several rivalries. I think this pair is new one. #frenchopen2025

Gavin M. Wax If what you mean is that startup founders should get instant green cards, I couldn't agree more. In fact I proposed this 16 years ago. paulgraham.com/foundervisa.ht…

Running an AI startup today using a SaaS-era playbook or even previously “best-in-class” speed is like gaming on dial-up. By the time your GTM feels comfortably dialed-in or your strategic bets seem sure, the match is over. Markets are moving (and being won) at meme speed.
