Started my visit to Kyiv by meeting Ukraine’s Deputy Energy Minister R.Andarak. Lithuania remains committed to helping rebuild Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As Russia continues its attacks, air defence remains a top priority - for Ukraine’s survival and our shared security.

Honoured to meet Ukraine’s Deputy Ministers of Defence and Strategic Industry S.Boyev and D.Aloian. As Ukraine tirelessly defends our shared security, Lithuania is learning and strengthening its resilience. Our partnership makes both nations - and Europe - safer and stronger.

Met with the Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office I.Zhovkva to discuss Ukraine’s - and Europe’s - security, peace, and EU integration. Ukraine belongs in the EU - it has met the conditions to open the first negotiation cluster. We need 🇺🇦 as a strong 🇪🇺 ally asap.

Spoke with Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada O.Merezhko about further deepening strong parliamentary ties, support for Ukraine’s EU path, and joint efforts to strengthen European security. Lithuania stands with 🇺🇦 - as a partner, ally, and friend.

Had very productive political consultations in Kyiv with 🇺🇦 Deputy Foreign Minister Mischenko. Lithuania firmly stands with Ukraine - we discussed deeper security cooperation, work in IOs, isolating Russia, and building global support for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The day of Mourning and Hope. Mass deportations were among USSR tools of repression. Innocent people from occupied countries were falsely titled as "enemies of the people" and deported. The majority of the deportees from Lithuania were women and children. Kremlin knows no peace.
